Engineer and writer Ulises Carabantes participates in the forum of the parliamentary union of Mercosur in Argentina

On Monday, the Forum of the Parliamentary Union of Mercosur began in Buenos Aires, an entity that brings together Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, member countries of Mercosur, as well as Chile as a country associated with this market in the Southern Cone of South America.

The forum began with a meeting at the Argentine Foreign Ministry, chaired by Ambassador Mariano Vergara, Undersecretary of American Affairs.

According to what was noted before leaving for the Argentine capital, the northern media outlet "El Tierramarillano" will seek to see how this international instance can be a useful tool to enhance Atacama as a logistics platform for production in the Southern Cone of America. Vergara, the Argentine diplomat who welcomed the representatives of each country, indicated that the challenges are multiple, improving the waterways that associate Argentina with Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil, also strengthening the mountain border crossings of Argentina with Chile, being our country the natural exit route for production from Argentina, Paraguay and Southern Brazil to the Pacific Basin.

For Ulises Carabantes, the Atacama region has unbeatable conditions to fulfill that role, only "we depend on correct decisions and at the time they are needed," he argued. Ambassador Vergara added in his welcome speech to the Mercosur Parliamentary Union in the Argentine Foreign Ministry in this special year for Chile and Argentina, as 40 years of the signing of the treaty of peace and friendship between both countries will be commemorated, which will be in November with a meeting between both countries
