The exhaustion of Liberalism

For many, the concept of liberalism may sound very attractive, striking and also hopeful, but the truth is that looking at its deployment in the French Revolution when it finally emerged for the West, it already bodes ill for us in terms of its purpose (freedom to be free). , an end more than a means “for”) and also of the different souls it has, among them the most fearsome, such as the radical left; Proof of this is the enormous number of murders committed in the name of freedom in that Bastille storming and the days after July 4, 1789 in France. Therefore, longing for freedom is not the property of liberalism, nor of libertarianism, but of the fundamental rights of human beings.

This feeling is exacerbated when socialism intervenes in people's lives, and is given special treatment when the citizens' economy is severely afflicted, which is the case of Argentina. In my opinion, in Chile it is difficult to embody, nor do I believe it will, this anguish with an economic tinge, as was the case of the trans-Andean country with the appointment of Javier Milei as president to free it from Kirchnerist oppression for years; not because we don't have problems in this sense, but because the communists who govern our country are in charge of not suffocating homes "so much", they have learned and left it noted in their history lesson manual (to continue convincing the ignorant and the maladjusted of all times). These two neighboring countries have many similarities, but are based on different neo-communist experiments. Chile still has acceptable (by citizens) economic standards, it is a matter of looking at indicators such as GDP, IMACEC, unemployment rates that are not a concern at the national level at least for the moment, although growth is stagnant and This is the key to seeing how the symptoms of bad trends appear, many downwards, in matters of investment and private job creation; These have had a significant slowdown in the last two years in the socio-communist administration of Gabriel Boric, no matter how much they laughably try to convince us that the best thing is economic management (check out the interview in Tercera this Sunday with Enrique Correa, not to believe it ).

If there is something undeniable in the country every time we are challenged both by nature and by the forced processes generated by the left, it is the permanent presence of conservative traits and love towards the national, the homeland, deeply rooted throughout the country. territory, in that “deep” Chile, which in turn is very disappointed in what the liberal processes have meant, where many sectors have been exaggeratedly expensive and privatized (health and education are a good example) and the importance of the cultural heritage, of the traditional (a typical phrase to talk about the fact that culturally we have been left behind, we read little and barely value art, literature and other expressions of this type) and are directed towards predominantly economic and technocratic solutions. All of this was taken advantage of and put with accelerants in the insurrection caused by the radical left in October 2019, passing it off as citizen unrest.

Meanwhile in the world, particularly in Europe, growing waves of uncontrolled immigration, to countries that are losing their sovereignty in legal matters, seeing their local executive powers weakened in their force mandated by the citizens who elected them, all a consequence of this globalism overwhelming, they continue to standardize the model on the countries they touch, stripping them of their identities to be reduced to rubble, because of this scourge that the progressive bureaucrats of the European Union try to impose, with the complicity of the liberal forces again. However, we can see some examples worth highlighting, with a forceful response in all their interventions, these are the cases of the governments of Victor Orban's Hungary (the most successful right-wing political project of this first quarter of a century), followed by one most recently in Georgia Meloni's Italy, in Poland the process that we also had until less than a year ago with President Andrej Duda, where fellow nationals were defended against this globalist rhetoric that labels any attempt to safeguard national identity as anti-European. , today weakened by the new liberal pro-Agenda 2030 and globalist-inclined prime minister Donald Tusk. Every day there are more countries determined to strengthen this vision that defends the policies and rights of their fellow citizens. We see Sweden that after many years of a social democratic “Welfare State” that broke the fiscal coffers and brought levels of insecurity never before recorded, o Denmark, which has imposed strong anti-immigration measures to stop crime carried out mainly by a segment of irregular immigrants or those with light choice standards. This phenomenon is already beginning to spread through Eastern European countries and crystallize into important movements in Central and Southern Europe.

All of the above is not foreign to the mainstream media, as you can imagine, and they are vigorously accused of being “extreme right”, and they even allocate large sums of money to universities and institutes to “investigate and analyze” them. .

The left was not content with that, it will always look for more excuses to blame those who want to defend their sources of work, their businesses and their efforts, such is the case that we saw at the beginning of this year, in the legitimate protests of large-scale farmers. part of Europe, which demanded, in the face of the advance of the leftist green agenda, which imposed restrictions on the use of water for cultivation, other environmental measures such as the use of arable land to “non-productive characteristics”, and reducing the use of fertilizers in at least one 20%; all issues that greatly reduce competitiveness with respect to productions coming from outside the EU (for example from Ukraine). Actions typical of progressivism and supported by so-called right-wing liberalism, which promotes bypassing local jurisdictions and stopping entire industries.

In Latin America we deal with this, of course, and also with much worse issues such as organized crime by drug cartels, the growing corruption that spreads in public institutions, all true cancers that are revitalized in impoverishing socialist governments that do not promote entrepreneurship or the improvement of individuals, much less can we ask them to be orderly, honest and efficient in applying improvements in state services in matters of public policies, nor to be consistent when informing citizens. Added to this catastrophe is that THIS right, the liberal one, is in terrible doctrinal conditions and it is a matter of seeing how at electoral times it does not even have candidates who can give weight to the young revolutionaries installed in the mayors (Vodanovic, Ripamonti, Sharp and Hassler, all very common surnames in Chile as you can see) just to name a few.

So that you can contemplate the inaction on this side, some electoral engineers and opposition representatives turn to some dying former concertationists who have conveniently run to the right, such as Ximena Rincón, who after enjoying the bonanza of the DC of the 90s has seen with helplessness his obvious expulsion from any coalition at the hands of the new left (a process encouraged, by the way, by the PC), it has nothing left but to join hands with the usual dupes, and on the other hand we have the current soul of Christian Democracy, today already completely taken over by the left, where faithful representatives like Claudio Orrego (now governor of the RM), who even asks for Michelle Bachelet's blessings to run for re-election in office.

You may wonder, what are we citizens expected to do then? I think it would be very good to start by leaving that good-natured but at the same time insincere position since in intimate conversation, whenever possible, his most honest words of harshness are brought out; give way, once and for all, to distinguishing in thought and action that everything that sounds like human rights and that pitiful and gray rhetoric is nothing more than part of the left's strategy to weaken people's conviction. and make them constantly doubt, in the absolute relativism of those who do not filter and say "yes, it can be", letting in gender agendas, "integral" sexualities, every immigrant must be welcomed and an endless number of phlegmatic postulates.

Beginning a determined action to defend traditional values, the family, freedom of worship, and everything that we have painstakingly built in generations, imperatively deserves to awaken a civic recovery of fundamental rights, where all that immense honest working majority, who It strives to move forward, participates in concepts such as mutual respect, freedom of expression and what makes us maintain a healthy and full democracy, capable of organizing and protecting the advanced path in obtaining better and greater opportunities in our conditions. of life in general, providing a superior quality of citizens for the country, which projects itself into the future in a solid and firm manner with the challenges that are knocking at the door.
