On the afternoon of Thursday, May 2, we had a very interesting interview with the Director of European Studies at the Máthias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) in Budapest, the Spaniard Rodrigo Ballester at the premises of this prestigious institution, located in the Tas Vezer sector, which today is being one of the main beacons in the defense of Western culture.

In this meeting, which lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes, we discussed different challenges that we have in the educational field and the promotion of Hungary's success in the areas of technological innovation and also the defense of traditional values. As a person with a vast experience in European politics living in different countries of the old continent, Ballester thinks that it is essential to be able to generate links between Hungary and Latin American countries in terms of university exchange at the level of teachers and students, so that “they can have the experience of living in a society that tries not to have social divisions caused by feminism, the woke movement and the constant attacks on the Christian religion", a society that does not raise flags of gender identity, that cares for and protects the family and that It is concerned with the development of individuals in all aspects. Thus, from our perspective of Chile and the Latin American context, we propose our admiration for the educational model that Hungary has also followed and that has been deepened, in terms of specification of the qualified workforce that the Central European country has, and also expressing our enormous concern about the abrupt social changes that the Latin American region has suffered in terms of polarization, increasing levels of poverty, as well as levels of crime and the irrefutable absence of the State in the protection and security of its fellow citizens.

Recently appointed as ministerial commissioner of the Hungarian government in Higher Education, he takes on a great challenge, emphasizing on creating communities capable of exchanging experiences, innovative ideas, and forming an ecosystem where, both the individual and his relationship with others collectively, they become richer as they work together; In his words, “it is not only reflected in the academic field, but it is also creating ecosystems capable of responding to the challenges of the global economy,” where small countries do not necessarily have to succumb to the dispute between superpowers such as China and United States, but they can generate centers of development, innovation and specialization that are highly competitive and that can generate a differentiating factor that gives added value to the communities where they are deployed.
